F1Krazy's News

Posted by F1Krazy - June 17th, 2010

Check my Art submissions. Kinda cool, huh?

Also, I'm still unable to eliminate the reset bug, stop the pieces from resetting AND get the music (now the Consternation theme) to play properly. Solving one problem just causes another. If I can't get these problems ironed out somehow, it'll be a long time before MMSC4 is released.

On a lighter note, what would you guys say to an MMSC4 Scene Contest on the Art Forum after its release? I'd have to think of a prize, but I'd try and make it a good one...what do you think?

With help from XRoadKillX (shout-out to him!), MMSC4 is really starting to take shape. The background changing and mute button now work, and I've also ironed out a few bugs (incorrect layering, not enough feet etc). I may still have to correct the reset glitch, but I'm not too sure.

I'm on holiday 'til Monday, so work will once again be on hold. Sorry I don't have a screenshot for you, I'm leaving pretty much now. So until then, keep waiting '^^

EDIT(03/06/10): I've now fixed the game so it loops indefinitely, but there's now a glitch where certain items will reset to their original positions every time it loops. I'll try and get to the bottom of this.

Finally managed to download Flash Pro 8, so now, I can finally resume work on Madness Scene Creator 4! Fuck yeah!

To prove it, and to show off some of the EXCITING NEW FEATURES, here's a screenshot. Please note, I still have a lot to do; fixing the rotations, working out how to flip objects (if you know how, plz tell me), fixing the mute button 'coz now the sound doesn't work, fixing the backgrounds 'coz they don't work...so yeah. It's still a WIP.

Let me know what you think. Any help/suggestions will be much appreciated.

MMSC4 IS BACK IN PRODUCTION!

A lot's happened recently...I think it's about time I filled you guys in.

First, the bad news. The very bad news. A couple of weeks ago, I got Windows 7. It's awesome. Only problem is, I got a new hard drive as well. I've got back all the files from the old one, but I can't transfer across all the programs. Which includes Flash.

So basically, I don't have Flash anymore. Until I can find it again, MMSC4 looks kinda doomed. Sorry :'(

On the other hand, a guy named XRoadKillX PM'ed me a few days ago with a proposition. He asks that I join him in a collaboration to make the ultimate Madness scene creator. Apparently he needs my organizational skills, which is odd, 'coz I don't have any. You've all been very enthusiastic about the team-up, and having played his latest scene creator (screenshot below), I'm perfectly happy to make it happen. Of course, without Flash, there could be a few problems...we'll see.

Oh, and I joined Facebook on Monday ^^

Collabs and Facebook and Flash, oh my!

Just to wish you guys happy new year, and to tell you what's coming next year:

*Moar Madness Scene Creator 4 (hopefully...this all depends on my computer software being upgraded)
*Striker Man & Striker Man 2-Deception (games I made using PowerPoint. SM2 is far superior to SM1, but I might as well submit both. Obviously I won't be submitting them here...I'll submit them someplace else and post the link here)
*Whacking Great F1 Sim 3 (another PowerPoint game. Hopefully it will be finished by mid-March, and hopefully it'll be EPIC)
*Flixel (I just downloaded the Flixel framework thingy. As soon as I figure out how it all works, I'll start using it to make games. So, who knows...hopefully that elusive Daily Award will soon be MINE!!!)
*Team Shadica

Merry 2010 everyone. I know you're looking forward to it as much as I am.

I'm having a problem with Madness Scene Creator 4. Or, specifically, I'm having a problem getting it to you guys. Everytime I try publishing it, it publishes a small bit, then crashes. It's really pissing me off. And if I can't fix this problem (which I can't, because I don't know what's causing it), then I'm afraid there'll be no Madness Scene Creator 4 this year. And that'll really piss you guys off as well.

So can somebody PLEASE help me?

Yep. You heard correctly. I have started work on Madness Scene Creator 4!

EDIT: It's now the summer holidays, so from now until September I'll be devoting as much time as possible to finishing the game. From now on I'll be regularly updating this post to inform you of new changes, so keep your eyes peeled.

Features added so far:
*Hank and Jebus sprites (thanks to d00dfayz for the Jebus sprites, and Krinkels, killer and SweetMadness for the Hank sprites)
*Zombie hands (so you can all stop bitching about it)
*A slightly larger game window (700x550 instead of 700x500)
*The rotation system has been tweaked to allow bodies to lie perfectly flat (this has yet to be implemented on all objects)
*Different backgrounds (this system still needs testing, so I don't know if it works yet)

Features to be added:
*The Auditor

Features that may be added:
*A never-ending loop, so the game won't reset every 16 minutes (this is the second-most requested feature after zombie hands, so I'll try. If I can't implement thi9s, I'll at least add some system that alerts you when the game is about to reset itself)
*A mute button/different audio (due to popular request)
*The ability to flip pieces (this seems very unlikely, but if I can find a system to implement this, I will. It'll save a hell of a lot of space, and allow me to add tons more stuff...watch this space)
*A 'layering' system (again, this seems unlikely, but if I can find the code, I will.

Features I won't be adding:
*The ability to save your scenes and view them later (unless someone gives me a very good system for this, I fail to see how it's possible. If you want to save your pictures, take a screenshot, paste it into MS PowerPoint, crop it to size, and save it)

If you have any suggestions, I'm happy to hear them (but don't expect them all to be implemented)

Entrants:
1. F1Krazy (Shadica F1)

If you have TrackMania United Forever, you can now enter Formula Coast! (yes, another crappy project of mine)

Formula Coast takes part on a series of Coast circuits. First is qualifying: complete 1 lap in the fastest time. Then, do a certain number of laps, and try not to crash. If you crash heavily, or crash repeatedly, you're out.

To enter, download the Arrows 2001 car model from TrackMania CarPark, paint it in your team's colours, and set it as your Coast car. Once I've finished all 34 tracks (17 Qualifying, 17 Race), I'll figure out a way to upload them to TMX and you can download them one at a time. Pictured below is the Jamaican Grand Prix, the 5th circuit.

For each race, post your qualifying time, then your race time (or, if you crashed, how many laps you completed before your crash). Try and post screenshots as well so I'll know you're not lying ;)

Also, does anyone know how to upload a track you didn't make in one of the upload slots? Because I don't.

So, does anyone want to sign up? Don't all sign up at once :P

For years, this site has annoyed me with its constant stream of MMORPG ads. Can't they advertise anything else? Well, whatever.

You may remember a month ago a LocoRoco minigame was released here, to promote the game's release for the PSP. Now, Aardman Animations have released a Wallace and Gromit minigame to promote 'A Matter Of Loaf And Death', a new Wallace & Gromit sketch airing on Christmas Day.

It seems big companies are now using Newgrounds' popularity to directly promote their products. I should try that with Team Shadica, it might actually work...

EDIT: This project has been officially CANCELLED. I'm going to concentrate on Madness parodies instead.
