This is a good game

I find this is more of a mini-game than an actual game. I'm sure you've gotten tired of hearing this, but the game is a bit too short. Just as you're getting into it, it ends.

If you make a sequel, I have a few ideas:
1. Add some different backgrounds (i.e. lava, underwater etc.)
2. Make it more challenge-based. For example, you could have levels where you have to blow up as few robots as possible, instead, or have levels with enemies that you're not meant to destroy...if you blow them up, it's game over. You know...stuff like that.
3. Change the music or add a mute button (if there was one I didn't see it)

Good time-waster though. 4/5 8/10.

HybridMind responds:

I don't mind hearing what people think about the game even if it is a lot about the duration. It is cool. I wanted the game to be short because I designed it to be rapidly replayed. That this seems confusing or a short coming is likely a problem with the game context or design I did. I'll ponder this point as well as the others. I do like your different background idea (underwater, lava, etc) that would be a lot of fun to draw and create environment-themed robots as well.

In the top left of screen it always says 'M for Mute R for Restart' but I know I should have added a little speaker icon too, my bad. :)

Thanks again for reviewing and playing!

Even better than the first

I never thought there'd be a sequel, and now it's out, I'ce completely forgottan about the original. The random character/level functions are a nice touch.

A few problems though:
1. As far as I'm aware, the shop only sells one item at a time. It should sell several different items that change daily (or everytime you play...or something) 2. When you put the playlist on 'Random', the Sonic CD song seems to come up far more often than the other songs, to the point where you press 'M' to skip it and it comes on again (as a result, I got so tired of hearing it I switched it off XD) 3. The SFX keep switching themselves off every so often (although I could just be pressing the button accidentally)

Other than that, great game. Well done.
But yeah. This is a great game.

Xanadu32 responds:

hmm wow I can believe you noticed the minor flaw in the song randomizer. theres 3 locked songs making 8 altogether. if the randomizer lands on a locked song it simple increases the number till it finds a song, if it hits 8 it will loop back around to 1, aka Da Boom. ah well, I'm glad you enjoyed it! thanks for the support

GLITCH!

I found a massive glitch at the start. When it comes up with your first objective, the character runs forward slightly, then the screen stops scrolling and the character is pulled backwards and off the edge of the screen, whilst still performing the 'running forwards' animation. This has happened twice so it's not just a one-off. Please fix this.

I'm giving the game a 9 because I know that once the glitch is fixed, it'll be an epic game.

Also, at the beginning, you wrote 'geting' instead of 'getting' ^^

ChamberACR responds:

This problem, unfortunately, only happens on some PC's and I'm not exactly sure why. Try using a different browser. Sometimes that fixes it.

Not bad

Quite a fun game really. I will admit, there are a few glitches, like the character stopping in mid-air when you jump from a great height, and the ninja-spin thing (jump sideways into a wall and hold left or right), but then you were a n00b when you made this. No offence.

FatKidWitAJetPak responds:

Well yeah i was a noob LOL. No offense taken. Glitches shouldnt be taken into consideration when the review is writeen, in my opinion, but as long as you died laughing i can sleep tonight.

Impressive

Looks like a good game you've got here. A few problems with the battles:

1. When you're selecting a character's actions, the other characters don't show up. Instead you get a Sigma/X/Zero-shaped patch on negative.

2. Sometimes, after you've selected a character's action, nothing will happen, and they'll only attack after you've selected the next character's action.

ChamberACR responds:

Actually those aren't glitches, but I appreciate the feedback. I do need to include some sort of in-game tutorial, but until then, let me explain here.

1.) The negative patch is intentional. It's meant to help you focus on who's turn it is. If people don't like it I can always take it out.

2.) Every move has a delay, reminiscent of FF5 (or FF2 if your old skool). When Tellah casts Meteo, for example, he doesn't actually cast it until a few seconds later. Same concept. If you notice next to the player's health bar there's a green horizontal bar. After selecting a move it decreases in increments until it's empty, THEN you cast. Enemies also have delays in their moves but you don't see it.

I personally find the delays invigorating. It keeps matches from being completely predictable or stale (ala turn-based RPG like Breath of Fire) and more active (like Chrono Trigger).

Wow...

This is a great game, and a pretty good advert for Wallace and Gromit as well. I was already going to watch 'A Matter Of Loaf And Death', this just made me want to watch it more. Well done.

aardmananimations responds:

Thanks for the feedback :)
Hope you like the new film

This was really useful

In the past I've posted about 7 abusive reviews, mainly for games I couldn't play properly XD

This is a really useful guide, I'll keep an eye out for abusive reviews in future (and hopefully stop posting them! ^^)

Little-Rena responds:

Yeah, don't let not being able to play a game cloud your judgement, if I did that, I'd be giving out a lot of 0's lmao!

Mmm...orange juice ^^

This test told me I was...

Social (WTF?!)
Prepared (...)
Logical (But I can't solve MENSA puzzles)
Something...
Impatient (that's me ^^)
And I don't like bagels (no, I don't. But I LOVE orange juice, so thanks for that ^^)

It also insulted my intelligence several times and gave me a score of 59. I think that's pretty crap...

Also, this is my 300th review. Yay.

K-Guare responds:

Good job, 300 reviews is more than me :D
Thanks for posting results, it's good to see what
other people got on the Personal Scores.
Thanks for reviewing :]

Some ideas...

1. Different enemies
2. Different scenery items (trees, for a start)
3. Smaller terrain blocks (like, 40x40 or something) and different types of terrain blocks.
4. The ability to change the size of the brush (so when you draw terrain it doesn't come out really big)
5. A 'level code', so you can save your levels or share them with friends (that would be cool)
6. It still lagged when I made a large level, and I didn't see any 'flashy effects'.
7. Tone down the gun's power. Right now it can shoot through multiple enemies, which makes it kinda overpowered.
8. Scenery backgrounds (like forest, lake, mountain, etc.)

That's a lot of things to improve on. As it is, it's pretty good. With these improvements, it would be brilliant. Keep it up.

BrokenVoice responds:

I've had some trouble, I lost the latest version but I've made some backups so it should be up and ready again soon.
Thanks for the ideas! There was a problem that the guns shoot through the walls and ground. I am glad to say now that this has been fixed and will be in the new version (coming soon). I'll try to do all those!

I noticed something!

The letter at the beginning is dated 'June 23rd'. This is Sonic the Hedgehog's birthday!

The game was cool, although different game modes would have been awesome (most cash in one launch, most distance in one launch, most coins collected in one launch etc.) Maybe challenges as well, like collecting a certain amount of coins in a certain amount of time.

jmtb02 responds:

Wow, I didn't even know! What a coincidence.

I'm a guy with way too many ideas and not enough time. In my spare time I develop indie games and occasionally write things.
